WHAT IS INSECTA

INSECTA

is a latex insecticidal coating created specifically for use on sewer manhole walls to control the sewer manhole cockroach population.

INSECTA

is an intricately formulated, high quality, latex paint in which chlorpyrifos is impregnated within polymers.

INSECTA

is fully manufactured and containerized in an EPA-approved facility.

INSECTA

is proven and manufacturer-guaranteed to be effective up to 24 months following application per label instructions.

Active Ingredient: Chlorpyrifos .86% (less than 1%)

Inert Ingredients: 99.14%

Studies by an independent laboratory (Legend Technical Services, Inc.), the City of Scottsdale, Arizona, and the County Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County have proven that on the day of spraying INSECTA on sewer manhole walls and up to 3 days following treatment, there were non-detectable amounts of chlorpyrifos in the downstream treatment plant nearest to the treated manholes.

HOW DOES INSECTA WORK?

Cockroaches, like most insects, have specialized feet. A combination of stiff hairs, mucus, and tiny sharp claws at the ends of an insect’s feet allow them to scale vertical surfaces. As cockroaches rest on or scale the INSECTA painted walls of sewer manholes, the secreted mucus breaks the polymer chain holding the chlorpyrifos exposing the chemical. The exposed chlorpyrifos adheres to the cockroach and is ingested when the cockroach licks its feet. Typically the cockroach will die within 24 hours. Because the cockroaches die so quickly, they have no opportunity to breed an immunity to INSECTA
